Zillur Rahman\\\'s death anniv today

The 2nd death anniversary of former President of the Bangladesh Zillur Rahman, a veteran politician, language movement hero, one of the close associate of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and one of the organisers of the Liberation War, will be observed in a befitting manner today (Friday).

Zillur Rahman, who breathed his last at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on March 20, 2013, was the 19th President of Bangladesh. The late President was the undeclared guardian of Bangabandhu family following the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and most of his family members on the fateful night of August 15, 1975.

As one of the main co-workers of Bangabandhu, the late President played a substantial role in the historic Language Movement and the war of liberation Zillur Rahman was inducted as the 19th President of Bangladesh on February 12, 2009.
