University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Dr AK Azad Chowdhury said Tuesday quality education and quality research are obligatory to keep pace with the present day world in the age of globalisation, reports UNB.
"Many countries in the world have developed quality assurance system long ago," he said, adding that a well functioning quality assurance system could push higher education in Bangladesh forward to greater heights with people's confidence at national and international level.
The UGC Chairman made the observations while addressing a workshop on 'Quality Assurance System in Higher Education' held at the UGC auditorium.
UGC member Prof Dr M Muhibur Rahman presided over the workshop while Senior Operations Officer Dr M Mokhlesur Rahman was present as the special guest.
