Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain said Wednesday South Africa will soon recruit skilled workers and professionals, especially farmers, from Bangladesh, reports UNB.
"There's an enormous demand for Bangladeshi workers in South Africa. The South African government wants to recruit workers from Bangladesh. So, we'll send our workers (to South Africa) soon capitalising on the demand," he said.
The minister was talking to reporters after a meeting with South African High Commissioner to Bangladesh Geoff Doidge, based in Colombo, at his office.
Mosharraf said an agreement will be signed between the two countries on the manpower export.
He also said the government is working to appoint a labour attaché in South Africa for the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates working there.
