June 23, 2014 00:00:00

Observing that no situation has arisen yet to bring back the Bangladeshis from Iraq right now, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain  said Sunday the government has all kinds of preparation to bring them back if the circumstances demand so, reports UNB.

"There're nothing to be worried and no room for spreading panic about the plight of Bangladeshis in Iraq," he said while talking to reporters after a meeting with Migration Crisis Committee at his office.

He also said the Bangladeshi expatriates may take shelter in neighbouring country Iran if the situation in Iraq gets worse. "We've already talked to the Iran High Commissioner in Dhaka in this regard,"

Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque, Expatriates' Welfare Secretary Dr Khandakar Shawkat Hossain and IOM Bangladesh mission chief Sharat Das were, among others, present at the meeting.
