Two teachers' organisations Friday alleged that a vested quarter is hatching conspiracies to foil the achievements made in the country's education sector, reports UNB.

They came up with the allegation from separate human chains formed in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city Friday.

The two organisations are Federation of Bangladesh Technical Teachers' Associations (FBTTA) and Swadhinata Shikkhak Parishad (SASIP).

Addressing a human chain, FBTTA president MA Sattar said Shushashoner Jonno Nagorik-a non-governmental organisation-is joking over the success of the students and exaggerating the situation focusing only on the increase in GPA-5 in the public examinations.

He said: "Students are enjoying much more facilities than the past. Sujon should not discuss only the boost in GPA-5 but overall radical changes in the education sector." FBTTA general secretary Muhammad Ali also spoke at the programme.

Speaking at a separate human chain organised by SASIP, Vice-chancellor of World University of Bangladesh Prof Abdul Mannan Chowdhury said despite various achievements of the current government in the education sector, a vested quarter is conspiring to impede its development.

SASIP trust member secretary Shahjahan Alam also spoke on the occasion.
