‘Collective efforts needed for uplift of C\\\'wealth states’

Collective efforts should be taken for further development of the commonwealth countries, reports BSS.
"Each of the commonwealth countries needs to exchange their experience for the sake of their development."
Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad and also chairperson of the Executive committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said this at a function in New York on Friday.
"To this aspect, the Member of Parliament would further expedite the development process of the country by mutual exchange of their experience and knowledge under the commonwealth countries," the Speaker pointed out.
The permanent mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations (UN) organised the function in honour of the Speaker. The Speaker also stressed on participation by the member of parliament along with the government in development process that would help to take the overall development further ahead.
Permanent representative of Bangladesh to the UN moderated the function.
Lauding the experiences and achievements which already made by Bangladesh in various field including women empowerment, development of women education, declining of mother and child death rate, food security and disaster management, Dr Shirin said the member of parliament would further expedite the development process through exchanging mutual experience and knowledge in this regard.
