10 BCL men hurt in police action

SHARIATPUR, Sept 3 (UNB): At least 10 local activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in a clash with police in the district town on Thursday.

Police and locals said a group of BCL activists of Naria Government Degree College hired some motorcycles on Wednesday for joining a programme arranged by local Awami League.

The BCL men had an altercation with the rented motorcycle riders over fare on the day. At one stage, the motorcycle drivers beat up two BCL activists Shuvo and Shafique.

Following the Wednesday's attack on the BCL men, a group of BCL men led by BCL leader Zahid Sikdar, beat up some motorcycle riders on Thursday.
