CHITTAGONG, Mar 28 (BSS): Chittagong district police in a series of drives picked up 10 leaders and activists of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir from three upazilas of the district on Friday night.
Naimul Hasan, additional superintendent of police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district, said they detained 10 leaders and activists in overnight raids at different places of Sitakunda, Satkania and Lohagara upazilas to prevent possible acts of sabotage during country-wide blockade called by BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Among the detainees, four were BNP activists, three Shibir activists and three Jammat activists, the police officer added.
