KUSHTIA, Nov 14 (bdnews24.com): The police have arrested 10 people for alleged involvement in the suicide blast in Kushtia-1 MP's house that had killed three people Saturday.
Two cases were also filed in the early hours of Sunday in this connection. Ejaz Ahmed, son of MP Afaz Uddin filed the cases against 10-12 persons, Daulatpur Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Hafizur Rahman told the agency.
Three persons were killed, including the suicide bomber, in an attempt on the Awami League (AL) leader at his house at village Taraghunia under Daulatpur Upazila Saturday night.
The bomber has been identified as Ahadul Islam (25), son of Tara Chand of village Gupinathpur under the upazila.
The two other dead include local Juba League leader Siddiqur Rahman (35), and Taragunia High School acting headmaster Asmat Ali (45).
The police official said that one of the arrested persons had been directly involved in the attack. Their identities were kept secret for the sake of investigation, he added.
Locals said that Siddique and Ahad were cousins. The first one was known as an activist of Bangladesh Juba League, while Ahad was said to be a vagabond.
As a party activist, Siddique had free access to the MP's house. He was seen near the house just before the attack, Daulatpur thana OC said.
