102 parties collect registration forms, four apply so far

Some 102 political parties have collected the forms for registration with the Election Commission (EC) and of them only four parties submitted their applications till Thursday, reports UNB.
The EC had earlier urged the political parties to submit their applications within October 15 for registration, made mandatory for the parties to contest in the general election.
The four political parties who have already submitted the applications to the Commission for registration are Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Samybadi Dol, Freedom Party and Jatiya Party (JP).
The political parties who collected the registration forms are mostly small in size while the major political parties like Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh are yet to collect the registration forms.
The prominent among the registration seekers are Liberal Democratic Party, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dol, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Gono Forum, Jatiya Party (Ershad), Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), Bikalpadhara Bangladesh, Bangladesher Workers' Party and Bangladesh National Awami Party.
