11 DU students, a teacher hurt in clashes on campus

At least 11 Dhaka University students and a teacher were injured in a series of clashes following an altercation over a football match at the central playground on the campus on Thursday evening--reminiscent of a recent Armageddon triggered from the same venue centring the same game of soccer, reports UNB.

Police and witnesses said trouble started at about 5:45pm following a quarrel between the students of Statistics department and Biochemistry department of the university over a trifle.

"A series of clashes ensued as students on both sides of the divide fought running battles through the campus," says a spot account of the fighting.
