11 Jamaat men held in Jessore

BENAPOLE, July 28 (UNB): Police in a drive arrested on Monday eleven leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from a mosque in Narendrapur Post Office area in Sadar upazila on charges of plotting sabotage act.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Malek, Jamaat Amir of Kochua union unit, and its secretary Tariqul Islam and nine other activists.
On secret information, police conducted a drive in the mosque of the area around 10:15 pm and arrested them with Zihadi books, said Nazmul Hossain, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Narendrapur police outpost. A case was filed in this connection.
