So far, eleven members from seven families of unidentified martyrs of the July Uprising have provided DNA samples to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday in hopes of identifying the remains of their loved ones, reports BSS.

The exhumation of 114 unidentified martyrs' bodies began at Rayerbazar Graveyard on Sunday for forensic analysis. This marks a significant step toward identifying those who lost their lives during last year's anti-discrimination movement, according to police.

"It is a major undertaking to confirm the identities of the July Martyrs so that we can return their remains to their families," said Md Jasim Uddin Khan, Special Police Superintendent of the CID (media), told the news agency.

On Sunday, two bodies were exhumed for DNA collection and post-mortem examinations before being reburied with full honour.
