14-party alliance to participate in next vote jointly: Dilip

The 14-party alliance will participate in the upcoming general election jointly for the sake of democracy, prosperity and development of the country.

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB-ML) general secretary Dilip Barua disclosed this on Tuesday.

He was addressing a function marking the 56th founding anniversary of the party at Engineers Institution in the capital's Ramna area.

"We, the 14-party alliance, remain united. We'll participate in the next elections jointly," he said.

Also a former minister, Mr Barua hoped the next government would be formed as per the 23-point charter of the 14-party alliance.

He said the coalition would remain united and steadfast in its determination to address the ongoing democratic crisis.

Alliance leaders would be inducted into various position of the next government, he further hoped.

Mr Barua also stressed the need to address the problems the people are currently facing.

Workers Party of Bangladesh president and lawmaker Rashed Khan Menon said leftist movement has been split, calling for a greater unity of leftist forces to ensure people's rights.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president and lawmaker Hasanul Haque Inu said that leftists have divided.
