Central leaders of the Awami League-led 14-party alliance will sit with Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith to convey their opinions on different aspects of the proposed budget, reports BSS.
The meeting between the finance minister and central leaders of the 14-party alliance will be held at the political office of Awami League (AL) president Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the city at 4 pm on June 18.
Spokesman of the 14-party alliance, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim disclosed this to reporters at a press conference Thursday following a meeting of the alliance held at the political office of AL president Sheikh Hasina.
Mohammad Nasin said, "The budget has not been passed as yet. Some parties in the 14-party alliance have no representation in the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament). For the convenience of the leaders of these parties the meeting with the finance minister has been convened so that they could convey their opinions or proposals regarding the proposed budget."
Mohammad Nasim said, "Along with all we want to ensure country's progress under the capable and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina." But, he said some personalities have termed the budget as over ambitious.
"They came up with identical remarks following the announcement of the national budget for 2013-14, but we could implement the last year's budget facing many adversities," the minister added.
