15 injured in BNP-Jamaat clash in Bhola during poll campaign

At least 15 people have been injured in a clash between supporters of the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami during election campaigning in Bhola's Borhanuddin upazila, reports bdnews24.com.
The violence broke out in Tobgi union's Mulaipattan village on Saturday morning, according to Borhanuddin Police Station chief Md Moniruzzaman.
Police said several of those injured were admitted to the Upazila Health Complex, while two Jamaat activists in critical condition were later transferred to Bhola General Hospital.
Among the injured were Tobgi Union Jamaat-e-Islami leader Maulana Abdul Halim, several party activists, and a number of BNP supporters.
According to witnesses, around 20 to 30 Jamaat activists, led by Abdul Halim, were ampaigning for the party's Bhola-2 candidate when they entered the home of a BNP supporter to canvass votes. An argument followed and escalated into violence, with supporters from both sides reportedly using sticks.
Jamaat alleged the attack was pre-planned and led by BNP supporters, accusing them of using locally made weapons. The party said it would pursue legal action.
The BNP rejected the claim, accusing Jamaat activists of initiating the violence and of attacking BNP supporters and damaging homes. The party also said it would seek legal redress.
