SATKHIRA, July 2 (UNB): Police arrested on Thursday 16 female leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from Puratan Satkhira area of the district town while they were allegedly planning to carry out subversive activities.
Tipped off, a team of Sadar thana launched a drive at the house of local Jamaat leader Fazlul Haque at Madarasapara around 1:00 pm and arrested the female leaders and activities of the party, said officer-in-charge (OC) of the thana Emdadul Haque Sheikh.
