CHITTAGONG, Dec 30 (UNB) : Police filed on Tuesday a case against over 40 local leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on charges of vandalising vehicles and injuring a photojournalist in the city during Monday's countrywide hartal enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Sub-inspector Zafar Iqbal of Kotwali Police Station filed the case against 19 named and 20-25 unnamed JCD men. The accused include city JCD president Gazi Siraj and its general secretary Belayet Hossain Bulu.
Police said the JCD men vandalised several vehicles and injured Nazim Shahriar, a photojournalist of ATN News, by hurling brick chips at him in the Nasiman Bhaban area of the city during the hartal hours on Monday.
