2 JMB men get prison terms in explosives case

CHITTAGONG, Dec 31: The speedy trial tribunal in Chittagong today ordered JMB activist Rafiqul Islam Javed to suffer 20 years rigorous imprisonment and JMB activist Javed Iqbal to suffer three years imprisonment in an explosive case.
The court of Shafiqul Karim gave the verdict in the overcrowded tribunal this afternoon.
The convicts are now in Chittagong central jail. They were arrested with 600 grams black gun powder (explosive) from a house owned by one Khwaja Ahmed at Abdul Latif Road in the Nasirabad area under Pahartali police station in the city on 25 December 2005.
Acting on a tip-off the Rab-7 members raided the house and seized the explosive. Other accused in the case were Shaik Abdur Rahman, Ataur Rahman Sunny and Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai who had been executed earlier.
