2 Shibir leaders arrested in Sylhet

SYLHET, Aug 22 (UNB): Police arrested two leaders of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, from Monsuria Madrasah Trimohini area in Kanaighat Upazila Thursday morning.

The arrestees were identified as Rashid Ahmed, 26, president of Kanaighat Upazila unit Shibir, and Jubayer Ahmed, 24, president of the organisation's Kanaighat Degree College unit.

Acting on secret information, police conducted a drive in the area and arrested them around 11:00 am.

Rashid was sent to court after the arrest.
