20 injured in AL factional clash

GAIBANDHA, Jan 24 (UNB): At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two factions of Awami League (AL) under Sundarganj Upazila headquarters Saturday.
The clash took place between Swechhasevok League Leader Ahsan Habib Masud supporters and the upazila AL President Manjurul Islam Liton supporters following the declaration of suspension of an extended meeting.
Liton announced the suspension of the extended meeting of upazila unit until February 6 at a local auditorium as per decision of district committee.
Angered by the declaration of suspension of the meeting, Masud's supporters launched attack on their rivals, resulting in a clash between two rival groups.
Meanwhile, Liton Sunday filed a case against 22 people, including Ahsan Habib Masud in this connection.
