20 Jama'at men held with bombs

The police arrested 20 leaders and activists of Jama'at-e-Islami Bangladesh from the city's Mirpur area Thursday, reports UNB.
The law enforcers said acting on a tip off, they raided the house of Mohor Ali at Kalwalapara at Mirpur-1 at about 11:30 am and arrested the Jama'at men.
Among the arrested persons, two were identified as former Jama'at MP of Godagari Upazila in Rajshahi Prof Mujibur Rahman and Khulna city Nayeb-e-Ameer Shafiqul Alam.
The police also recovered six hand-made bombs, one-kg of explosive substance and a large number of Jihadi books from the spot.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Mirpur division) Moniruzzaman said the detainees were holding a secret meeting.
