22 'Shibir suspects' held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 22 (BSS): Chattogram Metropolitan Police detained 22 persons from different areas under Bakalia thana in the early hours of Tuesday.

It is believed that there are many Shibir dominated mess quarters in the area.

The drive is underway and the number of arrestees may increase, Mohammad Nizamuddin, officer-in-charge of Bakalia thana, said.

The drive against Shibir activists was launched in ogar Beel of Bakalia on Monday night and the raid may continue, he added.

Nizam said the campaign will continue and the number of arrestees will be ascertained after completing the drive.
