25 hurt as AL, BNP clash in Magura

MAGURA, Jul 8: At least 25 people were injured in a clash between AL and BNP supporters in village Kajori of Magura Tuesday noon.

Shah Md Awlad Hossen, officer-in-charge (OC) Sreepur police station of Magura informed, rivalry was prevailing between local AL leader Harun-ur-Rashid and local BNP leader Abdul Hai over establishing supremacy in the village. At around 12.00 noon supporters of Harun and Hai equipped with lethal weapons locked into clash.  The clash lasted for an hour leaving at least 25 people injured.

On information police rushed the spot and opened 20 rounds of blank fire to disperse the clashing people Seriously injured Atiar 45, Bakul 50, Sharoar 45, Sharmin 25, Mukadesh 35, Thandu 30 and Bashir Biswas 45 were admitted to Magura sadar hospital . Police has been deployed in the village and the situation is now under control. Case is yet to be filed in this connection.
