26 Jamaat-Shibir men held over sabotage plan in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Oct 30 (UNB): Police in separate drives in several hours till Thursday morning arrested 26 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir for their suspected move to carry out sabotage during the countrywide hartal, called protesting Nizami's death sentence, today.  Separate teams of police carried out drives in different areas of the city from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning.  In a drive, Motihar thana police arrested former Jamaat city Ameer Ataur Rahman along with five activists of the party from the Terokhadia area of the city on Wednesday night, said Rajshahi Metropolitan Police commissioner Mahbubur Rahman.
