Election Commissioner Md Shah Nawaz said on Monday the second phase upazila election slated for February 27 will be more flawless, reports UNB.
"We're working to make the second phase elections more flawless using the first phase's experiences," he told reporters at his Election Commission Secretariat office.
Shah Nawaz said the first phase elections in 97 upazila parishads held on February 19 were largely peaceful and fair except a few stray incidents. The commission now works more carefully to hold the second phase polls in a more neutral and fair manner.
The returning officers and presiding officers have been directed to take necessary arrangements for better holding of the elections.
Over creating a level-playing field, Shah Nawaz said the returning officers are taking actions against the violation of the election code of conduct irrespective of political parties and views.
