3 nomination papers submitted for Bhola-3 by-poll

BHOLA, March 29 (BSS): Three candidates, two of ruling Awami League (AL) and one belonging to opposition BNP, Monday submitted their nomination papers to the district election office for the April 24 Bhola-3 by-election.
The candidates are Maj (retd) Jashim Uddin (AL) and Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon (AL) and Maj (retd) Hafiz Uddin (BNP).
They submitted their respective nomination papers through separate showdowns to the assistant returning officer on the last day today.
BNP Vice Chairman Maj (retd) Hafiz was the first to submit his nomination paper at 11.00 am. BNP leaders Nazim Uddin Alam, Enayet Kabir and Jashim Uddin were present.
Maj (retd) Jashim came to the election office at 12.00 noon and submitted his nomination paper. He was accompanied by Lalmohan Upazila AL president AKM Nazrul Islam.
Later, Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon, also general secretary of Dhaka City (south) unit of Juba League, submitted his nomination paper in presence of AL leaders MA Kashem and Mir Mobasher Ali Swapan.
The nomination papers would be scrutinised on March 31, while the last date of withdrawal is April 8.
