3 Tahrir men held in city

Police arrested three suspected members of banned Islamic outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh from the city's Badda area on Friday, reports UNB.

The arrested were identified as Nayon, 25, an MBA student of Presidency University, Razan, 25, a last year student of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute, and Nazmul Hasan, 22.

Contacted over phone, officer-in-charge (OC) of Badda thana MA Jalil said they arrested three youths while they were distributing leaflets of the banned outfit among the devotees at Uttar Badda Hazipara Jam-e-Mosque after Juma prayers.

The OC said Nayon had also been arrested earlier for his alleged link with the banned outfit. However, he was released on bail and then again got involved with the Islamic outfit's activities.
