300 persons observe token hunger strike at Tungipara

GOPALGANJ, July 19 (UNB): About 300 men and women observed a token hunger strike Thursday on Sheikh Sayera Khatun Red Crescent Hospital premises at Tungipara demanding release of Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina.
Coming from in and around Tungipara, ancestral home of Sheikh Hasina, they sat on the hospital premises from 9:00 am to 12 noon.
They also arranged a milad mahfil at the mosque of Bangabandhu's graveyard, witnesses said.
Meanwhile, Chhatra League activists held demonstrations at some places of the district as part of their three-day protest against arrest of Sheikh Hasina.
