43 leaders, activists of BNP sent to jail in Jessore

JESSORE, Nov 17 (UNB) : A court here sent on Sunday 43 local leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliates, including BNP’s district unit acting president, to jail rejecting their bail prayers in two cases filed for attacking police and explosives.

The leaders and activists sent to jail include BNP’s district unit acting president Shamsul Huda, vice-president Rafiqur Rahman Totan, city unit president and Jessore municipality mayor Maruful Islam, Keshabpur municipality mayor Abdus Samad Biswas, Jobo Dal’s district unit president Ehsanul Haque Munna and Chhatra Dal district unit president Rabiul Islam.
