5 new women MPs sworn in

The five candidates nominated by the ruling Awami League for the new reserved seats for women in parliament took oath Thursday, reports bdnews24.com. Speaker Advocate Abdul Hamid administered the oath of the new Members of Parliament (MPs), elected unchallenged, around 4:30 pm in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The new MPs are: bdnews24.com's social affairs editor A N Mahfuza Khatun Baby Maudud, Awami League's women's affairs secretary Fazilatunnesa Indira, Mohila Awami League acting general secretary Pinu Khan, its Chittagong unit chief Hasina Mannan, and deputy attorney general Fazilatunnesa Bappy.
