CHITTAGONG, Feb 2 (UNB): Joint forces members in their overnight drive Saturday arrested 54 more Jamaat-Shibir men in connection with the assault on Awami League MP Abu Reza M Nezamuddin Nadvi at Lohagarah Upazila.
Mohammad Shahjahan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lohagarah thana, said the law enforcers arrested the activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different places in the Upazila.
With this, a total of 76 people have so far been arrested in connection with the incident.
Abu Reza M Nezamuddin, a ruling party MP elected from Chittagong-15 constituency, faced an unexpected humiliation at a religious function at Chunati in Lohagarah on Friday night as a group of people hurled water-bottles and some other objects at him.
