The High Court on Sunday granted six months' bail to six BNP leaders, including its four standing committee members, in different cases relating to political violence, reports UNB.
An HC bench comprising Justice Borhanuddin and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the interim order after hearing the bail petitions filed by the BNP leaders' counsel.
Of them, BNP standing committee members Moudud Ahmed, MK Anwar, Rafiqul Islam Miah, and ASM Hannan Shah, and BNP chairperson's special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas were given bail in two cases filed over Hefajat-e-Islam's violence in the capital's Motijheel area on May 5.
