6 held over Shimu murder

Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested six people over the killing of one Shimu Akhter Shumi, whose body was found in seven pieces in the city's Motijheel area, reports bdnews24.com.
The arrested are Saidul Islam, Hanif, Ratul Ahmed, Sujon, Nurunnabi Shawon, and Sumon.
They were arrested after raiding different places in Motijheel on Sunday, said Assistant Commissioner of DB Iftekharul Islam.
According to Islam, the six used to take drugs on the roof of Rokeya Manzil, the building in Fakirapul where Shimu's decapitated head was found.
Another accused Mobarak Ullah Monty had also been arrested from the same building.
But he later died in a shootout with RAB on Mar 22 at Shahjahanpur.
Earlier, RAB personnel arrested one Jahangir Hossain Sohel alias Bangla Sohel from the Fakirapul bus stand area.
On March 10, Shumi's body in pieces were found from the roof of a tin-shed house in Fakirapul.
