The chief election commissioner has announced the schedule for the sixth phase of fourth Upazila Parishad elections, reports bdnews24.com.
CEC Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad announced the schedule at a press conference Wednesday, in his first public appearance after returning from a one-and-a-half-month long trip to the US.
The local government polls have already been held in five phases at 459 of the 487 Upazilas in Bangladesh.
In the last phase, 14 more Upazilas in 10 districts will go to vote on May 19.
According to the schedule, the deadline for submitting nominations at these Upazilas is Apr 24 and May 3 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
