700 BNP-Jammat leaders and activists sued in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Jan 6 (agencies): Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) filed two cases Monday night against nearly 700 leaders and activists of BNP-Jamaat including city BNP president and General secretary (GS) in connection with violence unleashed by BNP-Jammat activists on January 5.
City BNP president Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and GS Dr Shahadat Hossain were, among others, named in one of the cases filed for violence at city's Kazir Dewri and Chawkbazar areas.
Of them, 260 people, including Aslam Chowdhury and Enamul Haque, were shown arrested in the case.
Sub-inspector (SI) Ekramullah of Kotwali thana filed one case with Kotwali thana naming 300 leaders and activists of Jamaat-BNP and against 200 unnamed others for violence at city's Kazir Dewri area.
