72 Natore BNP men land in jail

NATORE, Aug 25 (UNB): A court here turned down on Monday the bail petitions of 72 BNP leaders and activists and sent them to jail in separate cases filed in connection with violence during the Upazila polls.

Natore Chief Judicial Magistrate Liakat Ali Mollah passed the order when the accused BNP leaders and activists surrendered before the court and sought bail.

A group of miscreants vandalised several houses at Panchbaria village in Baraigram Upazila after the Boraigram Upazila election was held on March 23.

Four separate cases were filed against 132 BNP leaders and activists in this connection.
