9 BCL men on 2-day remand over SUST violence

SYLHET, Dec 3 (UNB): A court here placed Wednesday nine activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit on a two-day remand in connection with two separate cases filed over the recent BCL infighting at SUST that left a BCL man dead.

Mohammad Anwarul Haque, Judge of the Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1 passed the order as Atiqur Rahman, sub-inspector of Jalalabad Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case, sought a five-day remand for each Monday.

The BCL men are Jayanta Das, Ashique Mursalin, Ujjal Ahmed, Naim Ahmed, Belal Ahmed, Sajal Das Anik Mehedi Hasan, Emran Hossain and Sultan Ahmed.
