93 candidates withdraw from Dec 29 polls race so far

Jamaat-e-Islami has withdrawn candidates from 11 constituencies leaving 38 to contest the Dec 29 election in alliance with BNP led 4-party alliance, reports UNB.
Secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid in a statement said the party candidates withdrew from 11 constituencies for the sake of forging greater unity of the alliance.
Jamaat candidates withdrew are from Bogra-4, Chapainawabganj-1, Naogaon-4, Rajshahi-4, Meherpur-1, Kushtia-2, Jhenaidah-2, Mymensingh-6, Dhaka-8 and Cox's Bazar-1
Kishoreganj
Former Education Minister Dr M Osman Farooq (Ind), Advocate Nadira Begum (Kallyan Party), Eng Mohammad Yusuf (Bikalpadhara) and Advocate Mahmudul Islam withdrew from the race, leaving 30 candidates in the field
Natore
Six candidates - Shymol Kumar (JSD), Prof Yunus Ali (Jamaat), Shukhamoy Roy (JSD), Khandakar Zubair Hossain (Bikalpadhara), Nazrul Islam (Ind) and Ruhul Kuddus Babu (JSD) withdrew candidature. Twenty-seven are now in the field.
Sherpur
Four candidates have withdrawn are Golam Mustafa (Jukta Front), Ad Aminul Islam (BJP), Golam Masum (Ind) and Ad MA Halim, leaving 15 candidates in the field from three constituencies.
Pabna
Four candidates withdrew are Ismat Zerin Khan (LDP), Ad Abdus Sattar (JP), Abdul Matin (JP) and Shahdat Hossain (JSD-Inu). 19 candidates are in the field.
Jamalpur
Seven candidates withdrew are Istiaq Hossain Deedar (AL rebel), Shahjahan Ali Mondal (AL rebel), Daulatuzzaman (JP), Maj Gen (rtd) Anwarul Kabir Talukdar (LDP), Mamunur Rashid Joardar (JP), Maulana Nurul Islam (AL rebel) and Muzaffar Hossain (Al rebel). 22 are now in the field.
Meherpur
Three candidates withdrew are Prof Abdul Mannan (Ind), Khandkar Amirul Islam (JP) and Syed Tawhidul Alam Ali Haider (Tariqat Federation). 7 candidates are now in the field from two seats in the district.
Bogra
Nine candidates withdrew from seven constituencies are Akram Hossain (AL0, Masudur Rahman Helal (Nagorik Andalon), Mahmudur Rahman Mannan (Ind), Nurul Islam (JP), Nazir Ahmed (Jamaat), Yunus Ali (AL), Nurul Amin (JP), Rustam Ali (Jamaat) and Qamrunnahar Putul (AL). 32 candidates are now in the race.
Lalmonirhat
Three candidates withdrew are Abul Khair Dulal (AL), Nuruzzaman Ahmed (AL) and Mashiur Rahman Ranga (JP). 10 candidates are now in the field.
Laxmipur
Five withdraw candidature in Laxmipur are Shahdat Hossain (LDP), Shafiqul Islam (AL rebel), MA Gofran (Ind), Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan (Jamaat) and Zakir Hossain (JSD-Rab).
Chapainawabganj
Five candidates withdraw are Md Nazrul Islam (Jamaat), Nazrul Islam (JP), Yea Amin Mahbuba (LDP) and Shah Newaz Ali Khan Panna (Bikalpadhara). 11 candidates are now in the field.
Comilla
Four withdraw are Md Iqbal Hossain Raju (JP), Rawshan Ara Mannan (JP), Md Zakir Hossain (NAP) and Asrab Ali (Khelafat Andolan)
Kurigram
Eight candidates withdraw are Golam Mustafa (AL), Md Zafar Ali (AL), Nasima Banu (AL), Zakir Hossain (AL), Maj Gen (rtd) Amsa Amin (AL rebel), Adv Khalilur Rahman (Islami Andolan), Sajjad Hossain (Ind) and Zahidul Islam (Ind).
Chandpur
Nine candidates withdraw are Alauddin Chowdhury Porag (Torikat Federation), Khandkar Golam Maola (Islami Front), Maj Gen (Rtd) M Shamsul Haq (JP), Mahbubur Rahman Shahin (BNP rebel), SMM Alam (JP), Maulana Abu Zafar Md Mainuddin (Islami Front), Dr Shamsul Haq (AL rebel), Syed Bahadur Shah Mujaddedi (Islami Front) and Dr Jalaluddin Kashemi (Islami front)
Khulna
Eight candidates withdraw are former speaker Shaikh Razzak Ali (LDP), Harunur Rashid (AL), Panchanon Biswas (AL), Muktar Hossain (BNP), Maulana Shakhwat Hossain (IOJ), Nurul Haq (AL), Shafiqul Islam Madhu (JP) and Shahidur Rahman Sheikh (Workers Party).
Sylhet
Eight candidates withdraw are Rafiqul Haq (JSD), Abdullah Siddiqi (JP), Muhibur Rahman (AL rebel), Maulana Ataur Rahman (Jamiat-e-Islam), Maulana Husamuddin Chowdhury (JP), Md Kahir Mahmud (Kallyan Party), Maulana Abdul Karim Akbari (JP), Abdur Raqib (IOJ).
