The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has appointed the investigation officer (IO) for the cases filed against former secretary of Housing and Public Works Ministry Dr Khondaker Showkat Hossain in allegation of taking government plots abusing power.

The ACC took the decision in a regular meeting of the Commission Tuesday, the anti-graft body public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the reporters.

According to the decision, ACC deputy director Jatan Kumar Roy has been appointed as the IO for the three cases the ACC filed last week against Dr Hossain with Motijheel Police Station in the capital.

ACC sources said Dr Hossain, now Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment secretary, has reportedly taken three plots against the names of his family members abusing his power when he was the Housing and Public Works Ministry secretary.
