ACC moves to sue Joy for illegal assets

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will file a case against Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her ICT adviser, on charges of amassing assets worth around Tk 600 million 'outside of known sources of income'.
The ACC said Joy has amassed and laundered a large amount of wealth by abusing his power, reports bdnews24.com.
On Thursday, ACC Director General Md Akhtar Hossain told reporters: "Information has emerged that Sajeeb Wazed has assets worth a total of about Tk 611 million, including movable and immovable assets. Of this, immovable assets account for about Tk 543 million and movable assets Tk 67 million."
The ACC said Joy's legal income was about Tk 13 million, and he had earned around Tk 601 million illegally.
