ACC receives wealth statements of Sarwar, Patal

Detained Barisal City Corporation (BCC) mayor Thursday sent his wealth statement to the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) via the prison authorities disclosing that among his wealth he and his wife have six apartments and three plots in the capital's posh areas, reports UNB.
The wealth statement of detained former State Minister for Youth and Sports Fazlur Rahman Patal was also received by the Commission through the prison authorities.
Both the corrupt suspects were directed by the anti-graft watchdog in early July to come up with the account of their wealth.
BCC mayor Sarwar, also a former BNP lawmaker, has three flats in Banani, one flat in Gulshan, a plot each in Gulshan and Banani, approximately 1,000 decimal land in Barisal, 10 decimal land in Savar, one shop each in Banani and Basundhara City, three vehicles, one revolver, three rifles, and 10 bank accounts with about Tk 4.0 million (40 lakh).
His wife, Syeda Nasima Sarwar, has two flats in the capital, one plot in Uttara, about 70 decimal agricultural land, 30 tolas gold and two bank accounts with about Tk 1.5 million.
There are also four bank accounts in the names of Sarwar's four daughters with balance of about Tk 11.2 million.
Patal, the State Minister for Youth and Sports of the immediate past government, has a house on five katha land in Banani, 115 decimal land in three places in Uttara, 1,196 decimal land in Lalpur of Natore, two 4,500 sq. ft.-flats in Banasree, a 3.45 katha plot in Banasree, three vehicles (Lexus, Mazda and Nissan Patrol), 70 tolas gold, share certificates worth Tk 30,000, furniture worth Tk 0.26 million, electronic goods worth Tk 0.3 million , prize bond of Tk 0.1 million , two bank accounts having Tk 16,000 and insurance of Tk 0.3 million.
Patal's wife has one fixed deposit of Tk 0.5 million, two bank accounts having about Tk 0.6 million, 15 tolas gold, insurance of Tk 0.28 million and share certificates worth Tk 1.5 million .
