ACC sues 4 bank officials

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against four people, including managing director of a cold storage, for allegedly swindling out more than Tk 170 million from Agrani Bank.

ACC assistant director Sheikh Abdus Salam filed the case against them with Tongibari Police Station in Munshiganj on Tuesday, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told The Financial Express.

The case was filed against managing director of M/s Ice and Cold Storage Company Limited Sirajul Islam, and its directors M Mafidul Haquel, Aziz Ahmad and Asma Islam.

According to the first information report (FIR), all the accused in connivance with each other took a loan of more than Tk 170 million from Purana Paltan corporate branch of Agrani Bank showing fake documents.

Later, they siphoned off the money abroad.
