ACC sues fugitive councillor Sayeed

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed on Wednesday a case against AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed, the fugitive councillor of ward-9 under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), on charges of accumulating illegal wealth worth over Tk 44.76 million.

The case was filed with ACC integrated district office-1 in Dhaka by its assistant director Md Ataur Rahman Sarker, said ACC public relations official Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.

The case was filed according to section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004 and section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.

Earlier on October 17, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) removed Sayeed from his post for being absent in more than three consecutive meetings and staying abroad without

permission.
