Action if any BCL activist found involved in extortion, warns acting president Joy

The new acting president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Al Nahian Khan Joy on Sunday warned that their organisation will take proper action, if anyone of its workers or leaders is found truly involved in extortion.
Al Nahian Khan Joy voiced the warning at a press briefing, held at Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University (DU).
He said, "If we get proper evidence of extortion or tender manipulation against any BCL leader, then we will take action against him or her."
At the briefing, new acting general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee said, "It will be a big challenge for us to form committees and arrange the next council within next 10 months."
He also said they will publish the names of those 19 controversial leaders who have already been expelled by BCL.
The new acting president and general secretary expressed the hope to lead the organisation as per the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also to overcome all the allegations.
On Saturday, Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and Golam Rabbani were removed from the posts of BCL president and general secretary respectively for their controversial activities.
Chhatra League Senior Vice-President Al Nahian Khan Joy and Joint General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee were given the charges of president and general secretary respectively.
