The government of Afgha-nistan has informed the Bangladesh Rural Advance-ment Committee (BRAC), a Dhaka-based international non-government organisation (NGO) that the release of its abducted official Noor Islam, a Bangladeshi citizen, from the captors is bright.
BRAC Executive Director Dr Mahbub Hossain told BSS Wednesday that the Afghan government has arrested one of the abductors and many of the relatives of the abductors and pressed for immediate release of Noor Islam.
Noor Islam was kidnapped from the BRAC office in Afghan province of Logar on September 15 who was posted there as BRAC area manager.
Quoting the message receiv-ed from Kabul Wednesday morning, Hossain said the Afghan government warned the abductors either to release him or to be prepared to get strong response from its side.
