AL activists obstruct Khaleda’s motorcade

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's motorcade was obstructed by Awami League activists at around 5:00 pm on Sunday as she was campaigning for Dhaka North mayor candidate Tabith Awal for the second day.
She faced the obstruction at Road no. 6 under Sector no. 1 under Uttara in the city.
The AL activists showed black flags to Begum Zia and chanted slogans against her. Panic seized the whole area over the incident.
She remained unabashed and continued her campaign at the Infinity Plaza of Uttara. At the moment BNP leaders and activists came to the area and chanted slogans in favour of her and Tabith Awal, the BNP-backed mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation. From Infinity Plaza she went to the Amir Complex.
She also visited the Khilket area and Jamuna Future Park before moving to Mirpur area.
She started her campaign from Uttara at around 4:00 pm on the day. She visited most areas of Uttara and sought votes for Mr Awal.
She started electioneering for Tabith on Saturday last. She distributed leaflets among the people and called upon them to elect Tabith by casting votes for the symbol bus on April 28.
On the other hand, Afroza Abbas campaigned for her husband Mirza Abbas running for the mayor post of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) at Zigatala, Dhanmondi and Hazaribagh.
Mr Abbas is contesting the election with the symbol mug.
She distributed leaflets among the people and requested them to cast their votes for mug.
