AL-backed panel sweeps SUSTA polls

SYLHET, Jan 20 (UNB): The pro-Awami League (AL) and left leaning panel has swept the election to the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Teachers' Association (SUSTA).
AL-backed panel won all top posts including the posts of president, general secretary and treasurer.
Out of six executive member posts, the Panel also secured five while the rival pro-BNP-Jamaat Panel got only one.
Prof Anwarul Islam Dipu, Prof Mohammad Faruq Uddin and Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed were elected president, general secretary and treasurer respectively.
