AL-BNP clash leaves five hurt in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Apr 22 (UNB): A clash between the supporters of Awami League (AL) and BNP in remote Bachamara village of Daulatpur Upazila left at least five people injured today.
Local people said Anwarul Haq MP ordered cutting earth of land owned by union BNP president for developing road to a primary school set up after the name of his mother. Landowner Abdur Rouf, also headmaster of Bachamara High School, opposed cutting earth of his land. This led to the clash at about 11am.
The injured are Abdur Rouf, Ziauddin, Rafiq, Amin of BNP and UP chairman Abdul Latif of AL.
Following the clash chairman Latif asked his supporters to close down all shops of BNP supporters in Bacha-mara Bazar.
