JHENIDAH, Jan 05 (UNB): Police on early Saturday arrested two people including a local Awami League leader for torturing a young man by hanging him with a tree at Sreepur village in Harinakundo upazila on December 28.
The arrestees are Shreepur union AL former general secretary Shahinur Rahman Tuhin and Kazi Babul of the village.
The boy Md Rana, 25, son of Omar Ali of the village was tortured on charges of stealing a television set from Shreepur union Awami League office on December 27, 2018.
